Central Indiana Food Pantries:
Food Pantries provide a limited amount of food to
individuals and families in short-term emergency situations.
Available provisions and supplies fluctuate since pantries often rely
on donated items. Request for assistance is usually linked
with other financial or social problems and an assessment
may identify other available services.

Food Stamps: Food stamps are available to low-income persons regardless of age. However, special consideration is given to those aged 60
and older. Eligibility is based on household size and total household income with deductions made for medical expenses. Food stamps are issued monthly and can be mailed to those over 60
years old.
Utility Assistance: During the winter season, the Energy Assistance
Program (EAP) helps low-income persons pay heating expenses by applying a
one-time payment to the utility accounts of those who qualify. For
