Boone County Public Library - Thorntown   City: Thorntown   General Description: The collection of books-on-tape and on CD includes mysteries, romances, thrillers, science fiction, biographies, and non-fiction, which may be played on any standard player. A free downloadable audio-book service is available from the library’s web site. In addition, there is free access to Heritage Quest online from home and off-site computers. The video collection includes current and classic feature films, non-fiction and documentaries, in VHS and DVD formats. Other special collections include: large print books, Christian fiction, westerns, Science Fiction, genealogy, local history and romances.

Center for Aging & Community   City: Indianapolis   General Description: The University of Indianapolis Center for Aging and Community is one of Indiana’s leading gerontology centers, serving as a nationally recognized model for its interdisciplinary approach to developing partnerships between higher education and the community. The Center is a champion for advancing the new reality of older adults as community and family assets and improving the quality of life for older adults in Indianapolis and beyond. Guided by its two focus areas, Aging in Place and Meaningful Work for Older Adults, the Center offers programming specifically designed to improve the ability of community organizations to serve older adults effectively.

ElderSource of Greater Indianapolis   City: Indianapolis   General Description: ElderSource is a network of coordinated services provided to older adults in the greater Indianapolis area. With its partner agencies, ElderSource offers a range of services to support and assist older adults and their families as they adapt to the aging process. In June, the Albert and Sara Reuben ElderSource program celebrated a year of providing services through Indianapolis’ only Naturally Occurring Retirement Community (NORC). And since July 3, all elderly and resettlement services are being handled by ElderSource.

Hamilton County Public Library - Fishers   City: Fishers   General Description: Located in the Thomas Weaver Memorial Complex on Municipal Drive just north of 116th St. The HEPL Literacy Program is the only resource in Hamilton County to provide one-on-one tutoring for individuals seeking to enhance their life choices and opportunities. We also provide classes in English Literacy (also known as English as a Second Language). GED classes are also available through cooperation with the Noblesville Public School System.

Hamilton County Public Library - Sheridan   City: Sheridan   General Description: The library was built in 1912 with matching funds from the Andrew Carnegie Foundation. (Andrew Carnegie is pictured at right). All the original furnishings are still in use. There is approximately 4,000 square feet of space on two levels, with the children's library on the lower level. There are over 35,000 volumes on the shelves.

Historic Landmarks Foundation of Indiana   City: Indianapolis   General Description: We offer tours for seniors and encourage seniors to volunteer as our tour guides.
 
Indiana Reading and Information Services (IRIS)   City: Indianapolis   General Description: We are a FREE reading service for Indiana's print-impaired (print-impaired including anyone who is unable to read conventional size print for any reason). We have three ways for listeners to attain our services; one by radio, one by the Internet and the last by "dial-up" or telephone rather. We have a 24-hour radio broadcast for individuals who live within a 40 mile radius of downtown Indianapolis and are unable to read normal size print (due to health problems or vision loss). Our radio broadcast and Web Stream includes the Indianapolis Star newspapers, surrounding county publications, grocery ads, pharmacy ads and television listings. Our "dial-up" service includes parts of the Indianapolis Star and 18 other surrounding city newspapers, as well as the television listings, grocery ads, pharmacy ads and discount store ads.

Morgan County Public Library - Brooklyn   City: Brooklyn   General Description: The Morgan County Public Library began in 1906, when Andrew Carnegie donated $12,500 for the construction of the Martinsville Public Library. While his donation was sufficient to cover the expenses of a brick building to house the library, Martinsville city officials determined that limestone should be used in place of brick for the "Artesian City." After selling bonds, city officials were able to generate the additional $2,400 required to construct the building with Bedford limestone.

Pike Performing Arts Center   City: Indianapolis   General Description: The Pike Performing Arts Center (PPAC), located in northwest Indianapolis, first opened its doors in 1996. This impressive facility houses a nearly 1500-seat Auditorium and a 150-seat Studio Theatre, complemented with state-of-the-art equipment. Being both an educational and community focused venue, we are home to the outstanding Pike High School Performing Arts Department, as well as being available for use by outside organizations. The Box Office is looking for several people who would like to assist in ticket sales during the week-day. Some computer literacy would be helpful and good telephone skills are a must. Volunteers can work for as little as 2 hrs-1 day per week or more time can be scheduled. 10am - 4pm monday through friday. Each volunteer is eligible to receive 2 free tickets per show for any PPAC sponsored presentation during the year.

Shepherd's Center Mid-North   City: Indianapolis   General Description: The Mid-North Shepherd's Center, a proud affiliate of Shepherd's Centers of America, was started in 1982, and is a viable entity in the Indianapolis Community. Older adults from across the city and outlying suburbs attend Adventures in Learning, a mini-university held each Wednesday. Day-trips, language classes, rehearsals for our performing choral group and handbell choir round out the weekly schedule.

The Leadership Institute – Women with Purpose, Inc., was organized by the Alpha Gamma Delta Fraternity and the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation as a 501 (c)(3) to provide leadership development programming for women.
