| General Description: The Madame Walker Theatre Center operates with a mission to preserve and perpetuate the legacies of its namesake, Madam C.J. Walker. These legacies include entrepreneurship, economic development, philanthropy and arts & culture. The Center is dedicated to the nurturing and celebration of the arts and culture from an African American perspective and provides a forum for arts and cultural programming directed toward cross-cultural appreciation.
